Membership Engagement Coordinator

Job Description
Position is responsible for selling memberships to prospective non-member businesses by communicating the benefits of the Chamber and continuing the relationship to secure renewal.  Provides detailed information on various Chamber programs and initiatives and orients the members to Member Benefits and the Chamber’s advertising vehicles.  The Recruitment and Retention Coordinator will actively promote the Chamber and support its mission.
Detailed Duties
Solicitation of membership investments and renewal of 2nd year memberships
New Member Recruitment
  1. Prospect for new membership investments at the $195, $295, $495, $1,000 levels (Goal:  sell a minimum of 5 memberships per month or $1,250 in new member dues revenue.)
  1. Prospects can be found by cold calling, warm leads, member referrals, etc…
 
  1. Maintain a weekly log of contacts and potential members, to be provided to the Executive Director on a weekly basis.
 
  1.  Attend every other month On-Boarding/Chamber 101 events.
 
Member Retention
  1. Ensure the renewal of assigned member accounts and assist with collection of annual dues.
 
  1. Maintain regular communication with the Executive Director and Executive Administrator to increase knowledge of Chamber member benefits, opportunities, events, discounts, new products and new services.
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  1. Make new member recruiting calls.
 
  1. Prepare Renewal letters and make follow-up renewal calls.
 
  1. With Executive Director and Executive Administrator create and execute an Engagement Plan.
 
  1. Plan that establishes goals for new member recruitment and membership retention.
 
 
  1. Attend and be actively involved in appropriate Mid-America GLCC events.
 
Special Requirements
  1. Self-starter.
  2. Professional appearance.
  3. Previous sales experience a plus.
  4. Must have/maintain a dependable vehicle
  5. Strong organizational skills.
  6. Ability to prospect/cold-call new businesses and to upgrade and sell accounts.
  7. Actively support and participate in Chamber functions. (Paid 1 hour per event)
  8. Must have the ability to foster the values of member relations.
  9. Professional demeanor and presentation of self with an outgoing personality.
 
 
Time Commitment:  15 hours per week
Compensation Structure:  This is an hourly paid position beginning at $13.00 per hour with opportunity to increase compensation after 3 months of engagement.
