The RN is accountable for utilizing the nursing process throughout the provision of care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum mothers and neonates. The RN is responsible for delegating patient-care tasks and for supervision of other patient care staff. The RN is responsible for coordinating the care of patients and consulting other disciplines of the health care team as indicated. The RN functions collaboratively with the medical staff and the other disciplines to provide and enhance patient care. The RN adheres to all nursing policies and standards, and proactively strives to maintain and improve quality outcomes. The RN will possess and utilize effective technical skills for the provision of safe and appropriate care, i.e. mother/baby, antepartum and intrapartum care, nursery, pharmacology knowledge, and assessment skills.
Has work shift commitment that is a minimum of 3 shifts within a 6 week period (one will be a weekend shift within 6 weeks) and 1 minor holiday.
Associate's degree in nursing, Bachelors Degree preferred
NRP within 6 months of hire
At least 2 years experience in Labor/Delivery, Mother/Baby and/or Nursery
Applicable State RN License and BLS required, Certification in Specialty preferred
